Welcome to the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Prince Edward Island website. This website was designed to provide information to our membership and also provide an opportunity for those who are not members to visit and see what Freemasonry is about. This site also provides links to other Masonic Concordant bodies.
Freemasonry is the oldest and largest fraternity in the world. It is a fraternity of men who desire to make their lives better and to do what is right in the world. While Freemasonry is not a religion, it is religious in that it encourages all its members to be faithful and true to their religious beliefs. Freemasonry encourages all Masons to respect all religions and has three guiding principles - Faith, Hope and Charity.
In the Province of Prince Edward Island, we have fifteen active Lodges. While some Lodges are larger than others, each Lodge has its own unique customs and usages while still adhering to the founding customs and usages of the Masonic Fraternity.
Freemasonry on Prince Edward Island offers its member the opportunity to become better men, to meet with other men who have the same values, to help our children get an education by providing bursaries, and a chance to make a difference in the world. Masons do what is right, not necessarily what is popular.
Freemasonry does not conflict with a Masons duty to his God which we refer to as the Supreme Being, his duty to his country or his duty to family and friends. As Masons we are taught the principles of respect, tolerance, morality, kindness, charity, benevolence, dependability and compassion.
If anyone reading this is not a Mason and would like to know more, please contact someone in your area and let them know. If you see a vehicle with the square and compasses on the tail lights, or stuck to the vehicle somewhere, introduce yourself and let them know you want to know more.
If you are reading this and you have not been to Lodge for awhile, please do make an effort to come back to a meeting. Lodges are always open to Masons who have drifted away because of family commitment, vocations responsibilities, or any other reason. You will be welcomed back and made to feel at home.
My theme as Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island for the year June 14, 2009 to June 12, 2010 is: Fellowship, Education and Laughter. Lodge meetings are all about fellowship and education but nothing in life should be so serious that we cannot have some laughter. I read somewhere that a small child laughs about 300 times a day and adults laugh about 30. May we all find more humour in life and be able to laugh as much as a child.
Thank you to the Brethren for electing me and I look forward to visiting your Lodge over the year and sharing fellowship with you. If you check the Masonic Calendar on this website you will find the dates for all my official visits to the Constituent Lodges which I have scheduled. The first one starts on Sept 2, 2009.

MEMORIAL R.W.Bro. SEAN D. MACINTOSH, DGM

It is with regret we report that our Deputy Grand Master, R.W.Bro.
Sean D. MacIntosh, was killed in a car accident on Friday night, August 28, 2009. A Masonic Memorial Service was held on Monday August 31, 2009 at MacLean's Funeral Home at 7:00pm. It was great to have well over 150 Masons turn out to remember our DGM and share with the family in their sorrow. Additionally, a Masonic Honour Guard was formed at the funeral service on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at St. Paul's Anglican Church. Again, this was a great success and showed the respect our Brethren had for our Deputy Grand Master. May we all remember his family in our prayers. Out of respect for our DGM, the first Grand Master's visitation to Prince Edward Lodge No. 14 in Graham's Road was rescheduled to November 4, 2009.
